Dr. John Barrett

Dr Barrett is the Medical Director of Palm Clinic which was founded in 1996. He is a leader in the field of phlebology (treatment of varicose and spider veins). Dr Barrett introduced the technique of Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy to New Zealand and has demonstrated the procedure on national TV in 1998 and 2001.  Dr Barrett introduced the latest non surgical technique for treating varicose veins, endovenous laser ablation, to Palm Clinic in 2004

  • Dr Barrett regularly lectures at international conferences in Phlebology (vein treatments) and is involved in training of other doctors in phlebology.
  • Dr Barrett is on the international advisory Board of the UIP (Union Internationale Phlebologie).
  • Dr Barrett performs UGS and ELT for varicose veins and microsclerotherapy for spider veins.  He also oversees the treatment of facial veins with various lasers/IPL at Palm Clinic.
