New Zealand's Vein Resource Centre
Patients with vein problems are advised to have a consultation with a phlebologist (vein specialist). At the consultation your phlebologist will take a full history including the date of onset of the problem, any exacerbating features eg pregnancy or a job that involves prolonged standing. Any symptoms associated with the vein problem will be elicited and any previous treatment that you may have had to your veins will be noted. A clinical examination of your vein problem will be made and if necessary an appointment made for an ultrasound of the venous system at Palm Clinic.
